When the Life You Have – Isn’t the Life You Want

A lot of folks online post about life being all about inspiration, beauty, fun, happiness, roses and daisies. I appreciate those individuals. I think we all need that more often than not.

I wish I could be that person. But I can’t.

At least not right now.

To be honest, life is really hard for me right now. I’m not saying that to look for a pity party. I’m saying that as a fact. Life is pretty tough.

I try to put on a good front. Because I have to. I believe that being positive and hopeful is more fruitful than being negative and bummed out.

But its a fight to be positive. Its a daily fight.

And why? You ask?

– Because to build your business you need energy. Did I mention I can barely make it through the day?

– Because to “get it done” for tomorrow, you have to sacrifice for today. But that’s kinda hard to do when you have a 2 hour nap after hours of coaching and am in bed by 9pm.

– Because to succeed, you have to hustle. And it’s kinda hard to hustle when your high maintenance health is your part time job.

Here’s the truth: I am not able to “push through.” I can’t “fake it till you make it.” Everything you see online in my life is the result of literal blood, sweat, and tears.  The price I pay for everything you read in my writing, or see in my little posts – that is everything I have to give. It is exhausting. It is challenging. It is raw and true from the bottom of my heart.

I can’t post just to post. I can’t follow a rigid schedule. I don’t have that luxury.

But I also can’t betray my dreams. I can’t stop making baby steps towards the life I am seeking.

And sometimes, that’s all you can do.

It’s frustrating, and aggravating, and painful when the life you want isn’t the life you have. But I want to tell you one thing:

It’s ok.

And it’s ok, that you feel so burdened by that.

Don’t give up.

Because to give up, is to settle. And that’s way worse to deal with.

So take your baby steps. Make the little progress daily that you can make. Hope. Believe. Dream. And build your courage.

Because we both know this: You were made to soar.

Don’t let anything keep you from that.

If you want to keep on keeping on towards your dreams, consider going through CRAFT. This program is the best piece of work that I’ve ever created. I’m more proud of it than I’m proud of almost anything else I’ve ever done. I built it for YOU, photographer. Because I want to be your champion, your cheerleader for the rough road.

This class of CRAFT opens in just one week. Register for it. Because it’ll be the best thing you’ve ever done for your business. That’s a promise.
